Statement of Beliefs

We believe the Bible to be divinely inspired Scripture. It is infallible, trustworthy and authoritative in what it teaches.

We believe that there is One God, eternally existent in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe our Lord Jesus Christ is the Second Person of the Trinity who became flesh in the incarnation to reveal the fullness of God and to reconcile creation.

We believe in Christ’s deity, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, and in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood.

We believe Christ conquered the power of sin and death. He was bodily resurrected from the dead.

We believe in Christ’s ascension to the right hand of the Father, where He now reigns as the victorious King of Kings.

We believe in Jesus’ future personal return in power and glory.

We believe all humanity is created in God’s image, and yet has fallen and become in need of redemption.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe our justification has been given by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from any self-righteous personal merits.

We believe all who are in union with Christ are dead to sin and have been made fully righteous.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to operate in spiritual gifts.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is a modified adaptation of the statement of faith originally produced by the National Association of Evangelicals.

We also adhere to the following creeds:

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God,
the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God,
Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through Him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
He came down from heaven;
He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
and was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered and was buried.
The third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen.

The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended to hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
